And now we switch islands. Our first video outside São Jorge is set on the Island of São Miguel, more specifically in the Civil Parish of Faial da Terra, Povoação County. It’s located in the southern and eastern part of the island, making it the island’s second most southeast civil parish (the first being Água Retorta). Locally, it’s known as ‘The Island Nativity Scene,’ and it’s also widely recognized for the Place of Sanguinho - an old rural settlement that has been transformed into a tourist village. Additionally, it’s famous for its trail, Caminho do Salto do Prego, and Salto do Prego itself (a waterfall).
