Mary Chaney, Chairwoman and CEO of Minorities in Cybersecurity (MiC), provides an overview of the organization, the MiC LEAD programming which consists of Aspirers, Builders, Communicators and Directors followed by a discussion about various roles in the Security Operations Center (SOC) as well as an example of what to look out for with threat actors. Presenter Bio: Mary N. Chaney, Esq., CISSP, CIPP/US has over 30 years of progressive experience within the fields of Information Security, Privacy and Risk Management. She graduated from Xavier University with a B.S.B.A in Information Systems and became a licensed attorney in the State of Texas in 1999 after obtaining her J.D. from Texas Southern University - Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Ms. Chaney began her career journey by serving as a Special Agent for the FBI in Los Angeles before transitioning into executive level information security and privacy roles for GE Capital, J&J, Comcast, and Esperion Therapeutics. Ms. Chaney is the Chairwoman, CEO and President of Minorities in Cybersecurity, Inc. which focuses on support, leadership and career development for women and minorities in cybersecurity and the Founder and CEO of its subsidiary MiC Talent Solutions, Inc. which focuses on placement of underrepresented talent.
