#sword #swordreview #greatsword // CORRECTIONS A few corrections regarding the typology of this sword, and XIIa swords from history. They weren't always lenticular - while it was often the case, there were also some XIIa swords that had a hexagonal cross section, or a blended hexagonal that ends up looking similar to lenticular, especially in profile photos. As examples, XIIa.1 and XIIa.3 in Records of the Medieval Sword are both hexagonal, and XIIa.4 is likely to be blended hexagonal. In addition, while I consider the rounded tip featured on this sword to be typical for a XIIa, there are certainly examples of much more acute points. XIIa.1 is certainly more on the acute side than rounded, for instance. A huge thank you to Mr. Angus Trim for graciously volunteering his far more extensive knowledge about historical swords and helping further my knowledge and understanding. // END CORRECTIONS I review my grete swerd of war made by Polish blacksmith Rafał Woszczyna of In'Carius Craft. This sword is representative of an Oakeshott type XIIa, and is notably a big, beefy version of the type, worthy of the "warsword" nomenclature. In this video, I give a little background on Mr. Woszczyna/In'Carius Craft, and discuss the XIIa typology as well as common mistakes on budget swords in this type. Then I take a look at the sword and scabbard itself, before talking about how the sword handles, then doing some test cutting with the sword, and finally give a verdict on whether I think it was worth the price.
