Is It Safe To Live in Surrey BC

Is it safe to live in Surrey BC or not? A lot of people seem to ask that question, so in this video, I’m going to be giving you the truth about whether it is or isn’t safe to live in this city… Long story short, certain parts of the city aren’t great to live in, but in other areas are great! So it ultimately depends on where you’re staying. Certain parts of Whalley and Newton, you’re going to want to stay out of. In those areas, you’ll tend to see a lot of petty crimes, gang violence, drugs, homeless people, carjackings, shootings, fighting, and much more. Whalley is known for it more than Newton. But in Newton and Queens Mary Park you’ll still see prostitution and things of that nature in certain pockets of those neighbourhoods, so it isn’t like those areas are any better either. Now, all of this isn’t to say Surrey doesn’t have any safe neighbourhoods to live, because it does. Fraser Heights, Panorama Ridge, South Surrey, and Fleetwood are great neighbourhoods to raise a family. But to most people that still doesn’t make up for the fact that Surrey as a whole, ranks as one of the most crime-riddled areas to live in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. I mean, when comparing Surrey to Vancouver, Surrey BC is way worse its terms of crime. The thing about Vancouver is it’s a huge city, because of that you’re going to have some crime in the area. In Surrey though, the main reason for most of the crime there is generally the demographic of people that live in the area and the poverty rate. As a whole, the city of Surrey is a beautiful place, but if I were to ask myself, is it safe to live in Surrey BC. My answer would be a flat-out no.
