Challenges of Developing the UK’s First Hydrogen Electric Dual Energy Truck

This talk jointly presented by the Greater Manchester Area and Power Industries Division North West Chapters of the IMechE and TiE UK North, part of the TiE Global Network will focus on: • Why dual energy source is the optimal truck solution. • Balancing between range, payload and cost. • What’s needed to establish Hydrogen Electric dual energy as the solution. The speaker is Tej Chadeesingh. Tej is an MEng Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Birmingham who has spent all his working career helping make hydrogen electric trucks a reality with Tevva Hydrogen Electric Trucks. His responsibilities have included integrating one of the first hydrogen fuel cell trucks to drive on UK roads and developing the compressed hydrogen storage system on Tevva’s upcoming 7.5T hydrogen electric truck. When not helping to drive the introduction of this cutting-edge technology to the industry, Tej is an avid handball and football player, both of which he says are best enjoyed on the beach outside his old address in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
