Rory Gardiner – Walking Milan

"Walking Milan" is an exhibition curated by C41 in their Gallery at BiM. It presents a series commissioned by C41 to the Australian-born photographer. The selection of photos mirrors his first walk through the North of Milan, which turns out to be an investigation of the city’s periphery’s vernaculars. Rory Gardiner is an Australian photographer of architecture, interiors and landscape. Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, he received an early education in design from his father, who’s an architect. After studying photography at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Gardiner spent two years in Japan and then settled between London and his hometown. Gardiner shoots primarily with medium format and film cameras, and collaborates with leading architectural firms such as Taller Hector Barroso, Tadao Ando, Winwood McKenzie, Matos, and Fala Atelier among others.
