Spending £30+ in LEEDS - foodie tour starting with FALAFEL GUYS & ending in KIRKGATE MARKET!!!

We spent a few hours in Leeds sampling some of the foodie delights of the city, starting with a halloumi and falafel bowl from Falafel Guys (£6) https://falafel-guys-leeds.business.s... The halloumi and falafels were cooked fresh and the falafels were nice and crisp - among the best we have had :) We also liked the beetroot hummus! We then moved to Kirkgate Market to check out the market stalls https://www.leeds.gov.uk/leedsmarkets... We had half a grilled chicken with rice and salad for £7 at Mr Mackerel   / mrmackerelleeds   The chicken was cooked fresh and the meat was tender, though the breast was a tad dry. The chicken went very well with the salad and rice. Good portion at an affordable price! Next was Jenny's Jerk Chicken for some goat curry (£8) and saltfish fritters (£3)   / jennysjerkchicken   Extremely disappointing saltfish fritters which didn't have any/ very little saltfish in - we couldn't taste any. Goat curry was tasty but lukewarm and overpriced for the small portion. Decaf coffee (£3) at Teapot Tea or Coffee was next https://www.cafe-tea-aire.co.uk/ Good coffee but overpriced considering we had to pay 50% more for a non-decaf. Also got a Yorkshire curd tart (£1.45) from Firth & Payne https://www.yell.com/biz/firth-and-pa... This wasn't great and was definitely the oddest curd tart we have had. Finally, a custard bun and a sweet cheese and poppyseed bun from Karpaty (£2 for 2) http://karpatybakery.co.uk/ Absolutely DELISH at incredible prices! We would be there all the time if we lived in Leeds! We spent £30.45 in total for some interesting and generally yummy fare. All in all, a good foodie day :)
