Even the world’s most celebrated artists struggled, failed, and doubted themselves — just like the rest of us. In this episode, I look at how artists throughout history have dealt with failure, rejection and chaos, and what we can learn from their mindset today. When Claude Monet, Edvard Munch, J. M. W. Turner and Gustave Courbet first showed some of their most iconic works, audiences laughed, critics tore them apart, and collectors turned away. Rembrandt van Rijn meanwhile pushed the Night Watch to its limits through radical experimentation. But somehow, these so-called "disasters" changed the course of art forever.
