MHFA (Malta Historical Fencing Association): Interview with Andrei Xuereb Part 1 Andrei Xuereb is the head of MHFA. He introduced Historical Fencing as a martial art in Malta by founding the Mithras Swordfight Club in 2005 and the Malta Historical Fencing Association in 2009. Coming from a sport fencing background, Andrei later totally devoted himself to the research and practice of Historical Fencing and European Martial Arts. Since 2006 he has been a student of the methods taught by his teacher Andrea Lupo Sinclair. After regularly attending the FISAS Academy for instructors, Andrei took the exams and in 2014 earned the title of Master of Arms. He is the first non-Italian student to be qualified in the 'Sinclair' system. He teaches classes in Longsword, Sidesword, Rapier, Saber and Partizan as well as weapon combinations like rapier & dagger, rapier & cape, sidesword & dagger and sidesword & rotella.
