Summer dream in the middle of Sweden, eating surströmming and taking a ferry to Finland

Last week I left you in Stockholm and this is exactly where we pick up the thread. I head out in order to pick up a rental car. Together with my family we head northwest and drive about two hours towards Fagersta where we meet friends. It is a time of connection with beautiful people in nature’s perfect setting with very sunny and warm weather. We visit old mines, go for a hike with a stunning view over the lakelands, have a puncture with our rental car and brave surströmming, fermented fish with a very distinct smell. We also spend several hours a day in the water and the sauna. After we say goodbye to our friends we head back to Stockholm, return the rental car and board a ferry to Finland.
