Great fun at Superfest! Thanks to Artka Wheels and Sailun Tires for the invitation. Last weekend, I completed 31 laps testing the Sailun Slicks, with a focus on longevity for used slicks. We achieved a best time of 1:38.8 and maintained consistency within a 0.2-second range across all sessions. Here is the onboard footage from Session 2, where I followed the Maxeuro M3 for two laps. Sammy was the driver, and this was his first time driving a high-power aero car. He immediately posted a 1:37.6—likely his personal best at SMSP. Congratulations to Sammy! Due to the high volume of the event, finding a clean lap was challenging. Heat soak appeared after extended pushing—oil temperature reached 125°C on the main straight, causing a 3-4 km/h drop in top speed. After a cool-down lap, we recorded a 1:38.9 in lap 5. There was also a fuel surge exiting T3, likely due to higher lateral forces requiring a higher fuel level than semi-slicks. Benefiting from GT wing, the T1 corner speed hit 193 km/h in the next session, improving lap times by a tenth. This is not the car's limit, but rather a tradeoff between a tenth and ten times risk.
