Watch as Dr. Edward Dauterive III conducts an esophageal stent removal procedure using STERIS foreign body removal devices, including the Raptor Grasping Device – 360 and Guardus Overtube. The patient had a gastric sleeve which later presented a leak. A Padlock Clip® Defect Closure System was placed over the tissue defect, followed by an esophageal stent. After a month, the patient returned for the removal of the stent. To help protect the patient’s airway and mucosa, the physician utilized the Guardus Overtube during the procedure. Next, the physician introduced the Raptor Grasping Device – 360 down the working channel. Featuring both alligator and rat tooth forceps capabilities, the Raptor Grasping Device – 360 fully enclosed the pull string of the stent. This rotatable grasping device offers full 360-degree rotation for enhanced positioning capabilities during procedures. Once the esophageal stent was pulled into the distal end of the Guardus Overtube, the physician extubated the patient with the overtube and scope simultaneously. For further information and detailed instructions on the use of the Raptor Grasping Device – 360, Guardus Overtubes, or other endoscopy procedures, please refer to the instructions for use for each product.
