📔 DESCRIPTION 📔 Take a ride, in real-time, on Calgary Transit's Blue Line CTrain from 69 Street to Saddletown. Calgary Transit's Blue Line CTrain - also known as Calgary Transit Route 202 - currently runs a total length of 25.7km crossing the Calgary metropolitan area in a generally east-west orientation while connecting with and sharing a portion of the Red Line CTrain through Downtown Calgary on the 7th Avenue transit mall. The Blue Line opened in two main segments with mainly incremental extensions thereafter. The northeast section of the line originally opened from Downtown Calgary to Whitehorn Station on April 27, 1985, and the western section of the line from Downtown Calgary to 69 Street opened on December 10, 2012, which was the most recent extension of the CTrain system after a 25-year gap in new expansions. Calgary Transit has long-term plans to extend the Blue Line further west from 69 Street to 85 Street and further northeast from Saddletowne to Stoney Trail with a connection to a proposed line to Calgary Airport. All footage captured in this video was recorded on October 10, 2023.
