The little chick worked hard all day to break free of its shell ♥ Jackie was on the nest most of the afternoon and during the evening hours to welcome her first hatch into the world. Shadow brought a fish to the nest & got to eat it. He will be excited to see the little chick in the morning! The coverage shows the hatching process in the late afternoon through the evening hours. Adorable coverage with its tiny pink toes sticking up & its little beak and head resting on the nest. A chick has to be completely free of its shell to be considered a hatch. The second egg pipped this morning at 10:03AM and the pip is growing bigger! Hopefully we will have an Easter blessing tomorrow! Congratulations Jackie & Shadow on the first hatch of the 2026 season! We are all so grateful to witness the miracle of new life entering the world! Chick #1 pipped on day 37 and hatched on day 39. Chick #2 pipped on day 36....awaiting the hatch!
