Meet John Walls, Dispatcher, UC Health Business Center

John Walls, Dispatcher for UC Health Public Safety, was awarded the 2015 Associate of the Year. Walls handles codes, rapid responses, and all calls coming in to West Chester, UC Medical Center, Daniel Drake Center and all of UC Health. As the first contact for the public, Walls recognizes the need for dispatchers to have a positive attitude. He knows the people calling could be his family, so he takes a personal interest in each caller. Walls looks for ways to improve UC Health’s work, which was evidenced when he took it upon himself to figure out a way to cut costs in his department. Walls was able to revamp the department’s pager system without sacrificing quality and service. In the end, Walls was able to save the hospital hundreds of thousands of dollars.
