The lower octave F Major Scale is easy to remember because it uses the same four positions two times in a row. The difficulty comes with the first note- the F below the staff can be a hard place to start. I make it a bit easier by playing the descending scale first so that I can start on the fourth-line F. If you are being tested on the scale- check the instructions. If they say ascending AND descending instead of ascending THEN or FOLLOWED BY descending, then this way of playing the scale will be acceptable.)
