Employees from Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust share their experiences of working for an employer, who recognises and utilises their talents. From starting originally on a supported internship hosted within the hospital trust, they have all progressed to permanent positions within the Trust. Supported Internships are a structured, work-based study programme for 16-24 year olds who have an education, health and care ( EHC) plan. Developed from the 5-stage Supported Employed Model , Supported Internships utilise a partnership approach to bring together colleges, supported employment provider and host employers to provide a blended, practical, learning experience for young disabled and or neurodivergent people. The Supported Employment model is underpinned by a set of clear values, that ensure people are supported into good quality careers, whilst also meeting the workforce development needs of business, creating positives experiences for all. Thank you to Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Pure Innovations, The Manchester College and Trafford College Group for their huge contribution towards the making of this film. Special thanks also to Declan, Oliver, Daniel, Christopher, Hafsah, Caitlin, Ryan and Christopher for allowing us to share the stories of their journeys into employment.
