East Lancashire Railway “Legends of Steam II” gala! | 14/03/25-15/03/25

This year I returned to the East Lancs Railway for their second “Legends of Steam” gala, splitting the action across two days! Originally, LNER A1 60163 “Tornado” was supposed to be attending however due to test runs taking priority, 61306 was subbed in last minute. Starting on the Friday I began at Bury Bolton Street to catch some shunting moves before then heading to Irwell Vale and Ewood Bridge, making the most of the good weather before it quickly disappeared. Later on in the day, I decided to move to Ramsbottom (and briefly Summerseat), where 61306 can eventually be seen putting on a good performance after having arrived at the railway from the mainline. On Saturday, I spent half the day at Bury Bolton Street and the transport museum before moving to Summerseat to catch 34081 departing and then Mayflower on the approach to the tunnel on a non-stop service. Finally, I headed to Burrs Country Park where I finished my visit to the railway!
