In July 1932, RCMP Corporal Leonard Victor Ralls was killed in the line of duty near Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. What followed was a coordinated manhunt across the Canadian prairie — involving multiple detachments and civilian pilots from the Regina Flying Club. Despite its significance in early RCMP history, the story of Corporal Ralls has largely faded from public memory. This short film reconstructs the events of July 4–5, 1932 using primary RCMP records, contemporary newspaper coverage, and archival research. While no photographs of the incident exist, carefully researched visual reconstructions have been created to help illustrate the historical record. This independent documentary was produced by Crosscut Films in Saskatchewan and developed with consultation from members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Historical Section to ensure historical accuracy and respectful portrayal. This film honours the eternal memory of RCMP Corporal Ralls and all police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Aviation footage courtesy of Dave Hadfield. Used with permission.
