If you close your eyes and listen to the Danish entry by Tomas Thordarson, you might think he sang for Spain by mistake. "Sig Det' Løgn" sounds like a Latin pop song. The Dane's musical biography explains it: Thordarson has been playing in the Latino band Latin Fever for years, which enjoys an excellent reputation in the Danish club scene. Thordarson's career began a few years ago in a talent show on the Danish television station DR. He made it to the final, but only managed to get third place. In 2002 he released his debut CD "Stay On The Line". R&B producer Jimmy Anthony, who had already helped Outlandish achieve international success, played a key role. His ESC title "Sig Det' Løgn" was chosen by the Danish television audience via televoting. The song clearly won against nine other entries. At the semi-final in Istanbul on May 12, Thordarson performed an English version under the title "Shame On You", with which he came in 13th place and thus did not advance to the final. Thordarson had started his musical career at Blaagaard Statsseminarium. Then he joined a band which makes funk and soul music as a lead singer. In 2001, he participated in DR's TV program Star for a Night. In 2004, he was nominated for LGBT Denmark's LGBT award in the category of gay of the year. Thordarson is openly gay. He and his partner are in a registered partnership since 2003, and they had adopted a child since 2002.
