Building Strong Family Connections with Conscious Discipline Presented by Amy Holmes and Angie Maxine-Little, Peterborough Child and Family Centres Session Description Conscious Discipline, developed by Dr. Becky Bailey, is a social and emotional learning framework that helps adults and children develop self-regulation through connection, safety, and problem-solving. The approach focuses on building strong relationships and using everyday moments to help children learn emotional skills and manage behaviour in healthy, developmentally appropriate ways. In this session, Amy Holmes and Angie Maxine-Little share how they have integrated Conscious Discipline principles into their programs and early learning environments at Peterborough Child and Family Centres. They discuss the impact this work has had on children and families, along with the lessons they have learned along the way. Participants gain insight into practical strategies that strengthen family connections and support emotional regulation for both children and caregivers.
