Prepping & Modifying a VW Beetle Gas Tank for Deserter GT Dune Buggy | EP26

In this episode of the Deserter GT dune buggy build, we prep a Volkswagen Beetle gas tank for installation — but since this is going into a buggy, it needs a few custom changes. We install the sending unit, fuel outlet pipe, and screen, then shorten the filler neck by about 3–4 inches to fit the body properly. After welding the neck back together, we relocate the tank vent to make it buggy-friendly and give the tank a quick brush-on paint job.
