A MetService red heavy rain warning is in place for North Otago, Dunedin and Coastal Clutha from Thursday 11am to Friday 9pm. MetService says the event is "very unusual" for the area with up to 150mm of rain forecast to fall during 34 hours. Civil Defence operations were underway. River flooding warnings were issued.
