This is a LED lighting project which you can build yourself out of a modest scene shop with simple hardware required and a straightforward topology. Please note there are some elements shown which require more dedicated electrical knowledge. The 120V side of the power supply means the whole thing will be installed in an electrical enclosure and if you are not experienced in this that is the time to call in an electrician to fit It in a box and provide you with appropriate sized and quantity of low voltage tails. I’m not here to make any suggestion on how exactly to implement this because it may vary from country to country but suffice to say you would know if you know how to do it so don’t do it if you don’t understand it. You also need to be careful when testing this stuff. I have it plugged in with 120v exposed for testing purposes but that’s with nobody else at the shop and I’m disassembling it when I leave now. Be smart. There’s a lot of room to change the pieces around here but this is what I ended I’ll with. Top level BOM: Generic LED pixel product, supplier I used BOND LED on Alibaba.com. UCS1903 based led. Typically waterproof sometimes marketed as “window decoration” RGB pixel module. DMX king LEDMX4 Pro 2447 3/8” thickness acrylic basic level carpentry skill and lumber meanwell 12 V power supply Today we are running live SACN over the network. In the installation the system will be triggered by an MA2 over artnet using the SD card playback of the LEDMX. Thanks go out to my team John, Dustin at my shop for the build, and Grant (https://gklighting.net) for the expert MA2 wizardry.
