This music video took 5 years to make. It was designed to feel like a lost reel from a 90s cel production was found and restored to 4k. Featuring character designs by Glenn Wong (Batman Beyond), the aesthetic blends the iconic sensibilities of 90s television animation with the surreal, painterly stillness of Angel’s Egg. Painstaking detail went into researching the effects of film on animation from grain, halation, bloom, and color shifts, to how traditional optical effects were achieved and how subtle movements in cel photography gave the image additional texture. The goal wasn't just to mimic a style, but to capture that feeling you have when you watch old animation. Hope it captures some of that for you too.
