Breathtaking Mt Wellington & Indulging In The Delicious Tasmania's Taste of Summer Festival!

We start the day with a hearth breakfast at the Ibis Styles Hotel. We take the Mt Wellington Explorer Bus to the summit of Mt Wellington. There are spectacular views of Hobart and the Derwent River and Southern Tasmania from up here. On a clear day you can see more that 100 km's away, including the Tasman Peninsular, a subject of a future video. Mt Wellington is 1270 metres above sea level and The 2.5 hour return tour includes 30 minutes to take in the views at the summit and a brief stop half way up the mountain. You can also arrange to do hiking on the mountain for the more adventurous. The Bus departs daily from Opposite the Tasmanian Travel & Information Centre at 9.30am, 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 3.30pm (3:30 summer only). The tour was fully booked and we booked about 4-5 days before and got the last two seats. It cost $40 AUD per adult. Make sure you are well dressed at the temperature on the summit can be 10-15 degrees Celsius cooler than Hobart. The weather can also be quite changeable and we alternated between sunshine and rolling thick clouds and a temperature of between 6c -9c. We finished up at the summit and rode down to the city.
