Two Minutes of Anatomy: Radial Collateral AKA Lateral Collateral Ligament of the Elbow Radial Collateral Ligament AKA Lateral Collateral Ligament of the Elbow. Three parts: Annular Ligament, Lateral Radial Collateral Ligament & Lateral Ulnar Collateral Ligament. Provide stability during varus stresses & posterolateral rotational stability. Lateral Ulnar Collateral Ligament: Predominant stabilizer in posterolateral rotational structure as it crosses over inferior aspect of radial head. Originates from lateral epicondyle of humerus & inserts at supinator crest of ulna. Annular Ligament: Stabilizes proximal radioulnar joint. Originates & inserts at sigmoid notch of ulna as it wraps around neck of radius. Lateral Radial Collateral Ligament: Originates from inferior surface of lateral epicondyle & attaches to annular ligament. Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) & Radial Collateral Ligament (RCL) Play an important role in stabilizing the joint to valgus & varus stress.
