Guitar Talk with a Collings D2h

This guitar was chosen as a first place prize at the National Flatpicking Championship, lost by an airline for two days, sold then bought back, and played a ton over the years. There are a lot of stories in this guitar, but these are just a couple of the ones I talk about. I also play my contest arrangement of Alabama Jubilee, including playing it with the recorded rhythm track (a CD) that I made. Just as I practiced it THOUSANDS of times for contests like Winfield, the Wayne Henderson guitar contest, Merlefest, and so many others. I also play a version of The Cuckoo's Nest at the end. So kick back, enjoy the stories until the incoming storm blew me away at the end, and take a listen to some tunes. If you want to skip to the music, Alabama Jubilee starts at 0:24 and The Cuckoo's Nest begins at 13:10. (But you should listen to the stories too.)  I recorded the narration outside as a storm blew in. I edited most of the audio interference out, but there is still an occasional noise (not too loudly, but noticeable). I felt that it wasn't so bad to re-record, and I liked the backdrop of my backyard. It almost looks like a green screen.
