Plain of Jars, Pansavhan, Northern Laos Travel Geek Update

The cryptic and eerie haze over the valley of Northern Laos is fitting as it blankets the mysterious Plain of Jars -- home to several fields of large, carved-stone vats. Some think they were funeral urns because of the human remains. Others think they were used for brewing spirits for festivals or for the leaders of whatever community of people carved and left these monolithic jugs for us to find and puzzle over later. This update was filmed in November, 2013. But I'm releasing it this spring because I am currently on assignment and filming throughout Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
