The Kosciuszko Foundation has become one of the most important and prestigious institutions, creating opportunities and changing the futures of thousands of scholars and students from the United States and Poland. It was not without challenges, and the hard work of many visionary people who followed in the footsteps of Stephen P. Mizwa. How the KF has changed over the decades, who stands by its turning points, and why today it is called the American Centre for Polish culture will be just a few topics mentioned during the lecture. Tomasz Pudłocki – prof. dr. hab., Professor in the Institute of History, Jagiellonian University, Krakow (Poland). He specializes in the history of culture, science, and education, as well as the migrations to the USA in the 19th and 20th centuries. The Grantee of the Kosciuszko Foundation, the Fulbright, the Piłsudski Institute of America, and the Czech Academy of Sciences. He has authored many scholarly publications.
