Brandywine Pink (Sudduth Strain) - The King Of Tomatoes!

Brandywine Pink, also known as Pink Brandywine, is one of the most legendary heirloom tomatoes. This video is about the Sudduth strain Brandywine tomato, which is a beefsteak tomato popularized by the famous tomato collector Ben Quisenberry, who obtained seed from Dorris Sudduth Hill, whose family grew it for over 100 years. In this video, I provide an overview of my Pink Brandywine tomato plant and give a tomato taste test. The Brandywine Pink tomato is what gardening and growing tomatoes is all about and just may be perfect. It has very little seed and not much "tomato gel" some don't enjoy. It is thick, meaty and not watery at all. The flavor is classic heirloom tomato taste and one of the most balanced tomatoes you will ever try. The Pink Brandywine Sudduth tomato has a perfect balance of sweetness, richness, mild acidity and bite. The texture is what really makes this tomato a standout: it is creamy and buttery smooth with a very thin, almost undetectable skin. This tomato is one nearly everyone who enjoys tomatoes will love. I live on the immediate southeast coast of North Carolina in a climate that's very difficult to grow tomatoes. I find this tomato to be one of the easier tomatoes to grow. It is very vigorous, has good yields, tolerates heat and humidity well, especially for an heirloom, and is fairly disease resistant. This is a mid-season tomato. While it isn't an early tomato, it is consistently one of my earliest varieties and ripens for me in late May every year I've grown it here.
