Hello From the Sea..... Welcome to the Episode 1 of Horizon Tales. In this VLOG I am going to show you the Navigation and communication equipments we have in our Navigation Bridge of the ship. A detailed tour of the Ship's Cockpit aka Wheelhouse. A brief introduction of all the equipments and their use. Merchant ships carry a specific number of Navigation and communication equipments. The requirement is as per the size and trading pattern of the Vessel. There are certain guidelines those are to be followed regarding carriage of navigation equipments. I am onboard a Capesize Bulk Carrier which is on Foreign going route. The equipments we have onboard the ship assisst us in Planning and monitoring of a safe voyage. Technology has evolved a lot, specially in the Maritime industry. I still remember during my innitial days at Sea, when i was a Deck cadet. We use Paper charts for Voyage planning.
