Many Bauhaus designers such as Wilhelm Wagenfeld, Christian Dell, or Gerrit Rietveld built various lamps to give the masses a functional, simple and timeless design. Van Bo Le-Mentzel’s lamp design is inspired by Heinrich-Siegfried Bormann’s "Kandem Rohrtischlampe Nr. 934." Bormann was at the Bauhaus design school from 1930-33.
