In todays episode we start off in the first tunnels polytunnel. There's been a birth! well thousands! Daddy long legs have hatched in the warm polytunnel. All the no dig raised beds have been weeded hoed and mulched for winter. The beds are then planted up with garlic and over wintering onions. I show you how to plant garlic what spacing for garlic and how to plant onions. The fruit cage has been finished. I plan to woodchip inside the fruit cage after its all planted up with fruit bushes and canes. Such as gooseberries jostaberries blueberries white currants blackcurrants red currants raspberries and many more fruit! I also fit a new lock to the first tunnels fruit cage. The one supplied was just a velcro strap so i sourced a better one and fitted it. By creating all the growing setups in winter so it saves me time in spring which will be busy anyways with all the sowing and growing. I plan to build a new floating shelf for the polytunnel to protect the plants from slugs. All the winter brassicas are looking so lush and green and i forecast an abundance of brassicas in winter and spring! I show you how to plan an allotment with all the growing spaces needed including flowers perennial vegetables. I plan to create a compost creating factory behind the polytunnel from pallets.
