Todays forecast was not great with quite a lot of rain wherever so thought no better loop to be doing than Borrowdale Bash which ordinarily would be just fine if wet and cold although a bit short if not After doing Walla Crag and down to Watendlath in dry conditions I had a decision to make, the cloud was low so the lets say normal Dale Head extension was not very appealing With thinking cap on remembered this loop from a few years ago and later checked doing it twice in 2018 again in 2019 and 2020 but not since. Couldn't remember the exact amount of climbing but knew it was a long ride and with a 10.15 start was undecided but thought it was either this or the standard bash so off I went up Honister All I can say is this was tough but a very rewarding and enjoyable day with lashings of tech to bolster the fun factor 🤘
