GR221 Mallorca. In September (2024) I returned to Mallorca to complete the full 10 stages of the GR221. The previous year, I had completed 8 stages. Day 1 - Port d'Andratx to San Elm 10km Day 2 - San Elm to Estellencs 24 km Day 3 - Estellencs to Esporles 12 km Day 4 - Esporles to Puig Caragolí 17 km Day 5 - Puig Caragolí to Soller 21 km Day 6 - Soller to Lluc 29 km Day 7 - Lluc to Port de Pollenca 27 km Gear used. Rucksack - Osprey Exos 48 litre Footwear - Brooks Cascadia 17 Gtx Tent - Lanshan 1 (three season) Stove - MSR Pocket rocket NOTE on signposts. The start of the GR221 from Port dAndratx to La Trappa is not very well marked. There are only a few markers of red spray paint. It is well signposted from La Trappa monastery until Port de Pollenca. NOTE on Finca Ses Fontanelles. A few older youtube videos show that you can buy water at Ses Fontanelles. This situation has changed and water is NOT available to buy. I emailed the property and was informed that water is only available if you are staying the night at the finca, and signposts around the property say that they don't want you passing through the property. The official route (on Consell de Mallorca website) takes you around the property along a narrow lane, to the right of the motorway (Ma-10) about 400 metres before Ses Fontanelles. The gate was closed on this lane way, so I just climbed over it. You do pass very close to some houses but I didn't have any issues.
