This footage was taken January 2nd-4th which would be the final three days of coal on the iron mountain railroad. Engine 70 made her final run as a coal burner in late October. Engine 192 would run the final two months of the season for Christmas. After a few days down for maintenance in late December Engine 192 was able to run the last week of the season, and give us a final farewell to the age of coal at Dollywood. Engine 192 began running at Rebel Railroad in Pigeon Forge on June 10, 1961. 192 continued the tradition of running up and down the Iron Mountain Railroad from the Rebel Railroad, Goldrush Junction, Goldrush, Silver Dollar City Tennessee, and then Dollywood. Klondike Katie was the original locomotive at the park as well as the first and only ride when the park opened in 1961. After nearly 65 years she will be looking and smelling alittle different next season. Engine 192 put on a nice show for the end of the season. Special thanks to all the engine crew and conductors for 64 and a half great years of coal.
