Trolls: A Field Study, By Thomas Dambo; Asheville, North Carolina at The North Carolina Arboretum

From November 15, 2025 to February 17, 2026 an exhibit called Trolls: A Field Study was at the North Carolina Arboretum. The Trolls were created by an artist named Thomas Dambo. For years he has been using recycled materials to create his sculptures and has been scattering them all over the world. He has done this in an effort to bring awareness to the amount of trash we humans are capable of making every year. Trolls: A Field Study is his exhibit of 12 Trolls that are traveling around to observe humans and the things they do. Dambo not only has created this greats works of art but is making a statement with them. The 12 trolls in this exhibit are interactive and smaller then his normal works. But they still carry the looks and emotion that he creates in his larger pieces. In this video Kristen and I walk the woods and the gardens of the Arboretum hunting for these trolls. I have also added the photos I was able to capture of the trolls where there were no other people. Being able to sit around and people watch while waiting for the perfect moment to capture these mystical trolls was a wonderful time. I very much enjoyed spending time in the woods and outdoors to find them!! The trolls will be continuing their study of humans in California in the near future as there is plenty of this world for them to see!!
