In this education session, the speaker will • Define Parkinson's disease and related disorders. • Describe Parkinson's disease trajectory, including recognition of signs of disease progression. • Compare multiple common motor and non-motor symptoms associated with Parkinsonism. • Describe strategies for managing symptoms associated with Parkinson's Disease in the palliative care context. Dr. WooJin Kim, is a neurologist and palliative care specialist at The Ottawa Hospital and Bruyere Continuing Care. He completed his PhD and MD training at McGill University, followed by neurology residency and palliative care fellowship training in Ottawa. His clinical practice focuses on neuropalliative care for individuals with neurological conditions. His research interests include assessing palliative care needs in individuals living with neurological disorders, exploring caregiver support needs, and developing prognostic models for this population.
