The UNESCO World Heritage site of Weimar is a medium-sized town in central Germany, but despite its size, has had a tremendous impact on Germany. During the late 18th century, Weimar was home to many important German thinkers, philosophers and artists such as Goethe, Schiller, Herder and many others. JS Bach and Franz Liszt also lived here at one time, it's where Germany's first constitutional republic was proclaimed in 1919, and also where the Bauhaus school was founded.
