Trisomy in Datura and Human

Trisomic organism bears a extra chromosome with its diploid chromosome number. Due to this extra chromosome diploid plants and animals may show some variations in their phenotypic expressions. In Datura, morphologically variable plants are resulted based on type of chromosmes involved in trisomy. Similarly in Humans different syndromes are observed based on involvement of different chromosomes in the trisomy. Down syndrome, Edward syndrome and Patau syndrome are some syndromes observed in human due to trisomy.
