Robotic Right Hepatectomy following Portal Vein Embolization for Colorectal Liver Metastases
This video is a robotic right hepatectomy for multifocal/bilateral colorectal liver metastases. The left-sided lesions were previously treated. The video includes inflow control, liver mobilization, parenchymal transection, and outflow control. This is our robotic adaptation of the open two-surgeon technique for liver transection. The laparoscopic Cavitron Ultrasonic Surgical Aspirator (CUSA) is used to aspirate hepatic parenchyma and expose the underlying vascular structures. The robotic vessel sealer is the other main instrument utilized for parenchymal transection. The goal audience is medical trainees (medical students, residents, and fellows) and surgeons.
