More recent run here, watch this instead: • ESO - vMA Magicka Templar - 616,043 / 23:5... This is my best run as part of a vMA score competition hosted in one of the discord servers I'm in, and also my best run to date (it's taken me nearly two years to beat the 610k I got back when toggle was OP). Overall I'm pretty happy with how this run turned out, except the first stage where I lost a few seconds to silly mistakes and this caused me to miss the gear swap. There were a few other instances where I thought the run was surely over (unwebbing the last obelisk by accident on Stage 6 - this could have caused the same problem as Stage 1, almost dying to the 3 archers in Stage 7, nearly running out of mag on boss 7 and losing the third ghost in the final stage) but it all turned out okay. I have a huge amount of gear setups, as you see when I open the inventory and WIzard's shows up, but many of them are identical, I've just have copies listed sequentially so I can switch to my next setup instead of having to remember which one I want (and it also means I can more easily adjust one or two skills without having to use a whole new sequence of keybinds). Compared to my last run, I've gained a lot of power by using Sul-Xan instead of False God (with a couple more stamina skills, mainly trap & caltrops, sustain is just about fine now) and dual wielding for extra stats (this actually took quite a bit of getting used to here). The dot changes from last year make it a bit harder to passively kill adds, but the extra duration from blockade & ritual especially is very convenient for dealing with multiple waves at once. (NB I imagine if you're really optimised then unstable wall is still better as you can arrange for the explosion damage to kill adds). It turns out I was also sleeping on major breach, even with light armour and lower than usual resistances it is tremendously helpful here. You can see gear setups in the top right, but most of the time I'm using one of the following setups: Trash: Sul-Xan, Order's Wrath, 1pc Slimecraw, Thrassian, vMA Inferno. 6 Light, 1 Medium except on Stages 1 & 3 (4 Light, 3 Medium there - I need to chain a lot, the extra medium armour helps sustain). Bosses: either Acuity or Deadly (on bosses 2 & 7), Master Architect, Balorgh, Thrassian. On Boss 4 I'm using a bow instead of a staff because Ballista deals damage immediately and I don't want to ult until I'm in combat or I'll miss the major slayer proc. Destro should still be better if you know what you're doing, i.e. can arrange that a protector spawns a couple of seconds before the boss becomes targetable, but I found bow more consistent. I also had a bow slotted for my boss 1 setup, but this was more an artefact of a previous route where I ulted at the end of round 1 (using MA to speed up the next 2 rounds) and couldn't afford another destro ult. Most speed in this arena comes from pathing - I don't know if my routes are optimal, probably not, I only really experimented with the earlier stages & took a lot of inspiration from actually good runs (see e.g. Supernatural's WR run). Besides this you can get a bit more speed by prebuffing while waiting between rounds - you have a few seconds between a round ending and the next one starting, meaning you can in theory switch skills multiple times. I only do this at the very beginning and the start of round 3, and just before boss 3, but you can certainly go crazier if you aren't worried about getting stuck with the wrong gear/skills (personally I think I have too much lag with gear/skill swaps for this to be worth it most of the time). I could have also tried to fit in some extra skills before the Ash Titan, as you're out of combat for ages here, but I lose so many runs before that point that it didn't seem worth overengineering anything there. Watching this back, there are a lot of moments where I clearly waste time/hesitate, but a lot of this is because if I don't then I'm very likely to die (and a lot of my runs end as early as Stage 3, those Lamia Domina are incredibly dangerous when you have 17k health and your only healing comes from jabs). I also have a lot of issues with skills not casting - for example just before Boss 2 you see me run to the lever and not pull it (I was trying to, but then left it to grab the Sul-Xan buff & not waste more time). No idea what that lag spike at 18:32 was about either lol
