This was the first of many daily qualification trains from West Palm Beach to Frontenac (Sharpes) as Brightline prepares for the opening of its new rail extension to Orlando, Florida in early 2023. Railroad construction continues along most of the route, which is expected to be complete at the end of 2022. The qualifying test train is tentatively scheduled to operate one round trip every weekday through 2022. The purpose is to familiarize certified engineers and conductors with the new rail territory, without any passengers on board. They will be limited to freight speeds for the time being, with a maximum speed of 60 mph, but it must go slower yet due to railroad construction along the route. Previously, on Tuesday, January 18, Brightline completed the first qualifying run, but it only went from West Palm Beach to Micco, FL. Video: Sony a6300 Timestamps: 0:00 - Melbourne 1:16 - Rockledge
