It's inspired by the experience of leaving home and traveling abroad for education. It is about the way my friend and I supported each other in a long-distance friendship, while we studied on two different continents. The song is written like a letter to my friend (who is given the fictional name Abby). It is a tribute to friendship, and never giving up on hope for the future despite challenges. "Abby Abby" is also generally dedicated to all those (especially women) who leave their homes, travel, evolve and because of this, feel like belonging everywhere - and nowhere - at the same time. In the video, I explore an undefined, lonely, yet warm and open space (feeling like Alice in Wonderland), while looking for the place where I belong. The dunes represent the world. I become a tiny body dancing within its huge space. In my mind, I write a letter to my friend Abby (who is somewhere in this world as well, but invisible). My music aims at breaking the boundaries of genre, shining a light on issues and uniting people. It's based on the idea that we all all connected. In order to get this right, I always look for collaborators from diverse backgrounds, do research on the cultural products that inspire me and give them credit. I also constantly evolve, trying to improve my work to keep becoming better than I was in the past.
