In proverbial terms, one would say the shoe is on the other foot. In the wake of what they see as an unfavourable Supreme Court decision, President Uhuru Kenyatta and fellow politicians in the Jubilee party appear to have dramatically shifted from positions they had taken just a few weeks ago. When he was declared winner, President Kenyatta had urged those unhappy to go to court and his deputy William Ruto even asked Kenyans to give the court time and respect its decision. But as Andrew Ochieng now reports, Uhuru, Ruto and Jubilee have undergone a spectacular transformation in the wake of the Supreme Court judgement nullifying the August 8 presidential election.
