Sebastian Florida features one of the more popular fishing areas with 2 jetty's and the inlet for entrance to the Atlantic from the Indian River or ICW. Very strong tides along with offshore winds can roll your boat over very quickly. Fisherman off the jettys sometimes accidentally catch a heavy lure into you or your boat. Best approach is to stick as close to the south jetty as possible. The currents are so strong you have only seconds to react if you lose your anchor while fishing in the channel. 6-8' breakers are not uncommon. Not as bad as those with huge bars like the Northeast and Northwest. But, it does claim several boats a year.
