The move aims to ensure regular attendance and prevent students from dropping out. The Odisha state government has taken this major decision to curb school dropouts, child marriage and child labour. Teachers will counsel students and their families and advise children to resume studies. In this regard, the Directorate of Elementary Education has issued instructions to all DEOs (District Education Officers) and BEOs (Block Education Officers). The decision will be implemented based on the recommendations of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, while close monitoring will be done to ensure effective execution.
