Thirlmere Festival Of Steam I NSW Rail Museum - May 17th & 18th, 2025

Over the weekend of Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th, 2025, Transport Heritage NSW hosted its annual Thirlmere Festival of Steam event at the NSW Rail Museum in Thirlmere. Featuring Steam Locomotive 3526 and Diesel Locomotive 4201 pulling shuttle trips from Thirlmere to Picton. Along with Steam Locomotives 3001 and 3265, and Diesel Locomotive 4807, pulling shuttle trips from Thirlmere to Buxton. Newly restored Steam Locomotive 2705 was on display for cab visits to the public, and The Picnic Train's Steam Locomotive R766 and Diesel Locomotives 4903 and 4836 arrived on Sunday of the Festival with the Thirlmere Flyer from Sydney's Central Station. Other festivities from the event included the Thirlmere Festival of Steam Street Parade, Model Trains, a Miniature Train Ride, the Coal Crabber Crane 1064, and R766 being turned around at the NSW Rail Museum's Roundhouse turntable.
