IF ENOUGH PEOPLE SUBSCRIBE I’LL BUY SIX FLAGS AMERICA Does Six Flags America deserve its fate? The point has been hotly debated ever since the Six Flags Corporation announced the closure of its Maryland property as it celebrated its 50th anniversary. The past 2 decades have not been kind to the redheaded stepchild of the Six Flags chain, and much of the park has been slowly rotting away. But, the past two years have shown the slightest indication that things might just have been turning around. Was the park on the upswing? Does it even make sense to invest in the park now that its main competition is owned by the same people? How the hell did Six Flags America get to its current state in the first place? Strap in, because over the next hour and a half I am going to break down why Six Flags would decide to redevelop the property, show that the park’s tragic fate is not too surprising through a deep dive of the park’s history, give an overview of the park’s coasters (both good and bad), and pitch why Six Flags America is a place worth celebrating. It’s too late to change minds, but we can at least reminisce about this bizarre, absurd little park and why it held such a special place in my heart. I hope you enjoy. This is by far the most intensive video I’ve ever done, if that weren’t obvious. But it was a labor of love. If you liked it, please help my channel by liking the video, commenting your thoughts, and / or hyping the video! All of these actions will help to ensure that my efforts be rewarded by the fickle YT algorithm. And subscribe if you want more elegiac videos in the future! They (hopefully) won’t be this long, but there’s a lot of great content coming down the pipe.
